Last night was the second time I’ve worked with Raquel. As a complete amateur cook, Raquel makes me feel at ease, creating a very educational and accepting environment. I hosted a bachelorette party there and everyone had a wonderful time and a delicious dinner! I can’t wait to work with Raquel again in the future. And I may even attempt to recreate some of the amazing menu items!! Thanks so much!
Thank you, Chef Raquel! My coworkers had a wonderful time and one even mentioned that this was “the best work event they’d ever been to”. Chef Raquel Rivera-Pablo led the kitchen in cooking a five-course meal, ending with a delicious chocolate lava cake. We must do this again!
Raquel is our go-to choice in NYC when we host events – she has catered my baby shower, a friend’s engagement party, and just recently, my daughter’s first birthday party. She is the consummate professional – proactive about staying in touch before the event and making sure the menu and logistics are completely set. And of course, she is an incredibly talented chef! Raquel creates customized menus that strike a perfect balance between healthy and delicious. All of our guests always comment on how wonderful everything tastes! Raquel will continue to be my family’s first call for special occasions. She is a gem!

My family and I took a cooking class with Chef Raquel last February and it was so wonderful! Chef Raquel is so great, patient and helped our group cook a fantastic meal. She is super professional and very organized and was wonderful to plan our cooking class. It was for about 10 people and we all had such a wonderful night! It was a post holiday family get-together as it was a gift that we gave to our parents. Def a fun experience!
My office did a team building cooking class with Raquel and I worked with her to set everything up. She was extremely accommodating and easy to work with, helping me come up with a menu that worked around everyone’s dietary restrictions and preferences. She has a great personality and on the day of the class, was great at including everyone and getting the whole group of 16 people involved. Not only did she teach us about preparing the dishes involved, but gave many tips and tricks along the way that could be used in everyday cooking. Everyone loved the experience and I would highly recommend A Pinch of Salt to anyone who wants to do a group or private cooking class.
Our department leaders, aided by a hardworking Admin. Asst. bent on finding an unusual experience for our team, booked a cooking class with Raquel for us for our semi-annual retreat. I’m a pretty decent cook with many years experience and was skeptical about whether or not this would really be a fun thing to do. Boy, was I surprised! A lot of it had to do with Raquel’s personality, her playful humor, and the finesse with which she draws everyone in. I would highly recommend this to any group looking for a unique, really enjoyable experience for a few hours that has the bonus of a delicious feast at the end.
